The demande for a Permis de Construire was modified in
October 2007. In theory it was made simpler and clearer. It is
clear but demands the same plans and documents for a
small extension as for a new château.
The demande is made on a special form available on the
Internet. A dossier consisting of the plans etc. shown on page
2 (Your Project) accompanies the form.
4 copies of the form and 4 copies of the dossier are deposited
at the Mairie of the commune where the property is situated.
A Receipt is issued giving the date of deposition.
The Mairie have 1 month in which to reject the dossier for lack of
information or pass it on to the planning authorities.
The planning authorities have 2 months in most areas, but 3
months in areas of special interest, to give a decision. The 2
months commence at the date of deposition or at the date of
re-deposition if there was a detail missing.
The permis, when granted, lasts for 2 years and can be
extended by 1 year.
Notice must be given at the Mairie when work begins.
The permis is cancelled if no work is done on the site for a
period of 1 year.
